The "DGQ Manager Quality Junior" certificate from the German Society for Quality (DGQ) can be obtained at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences alongside your studies. The German Society for Quality is one of the largest cross-industry quality management networks in Germany, conducts research, offers further training and certifies people.

Why

According to the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), the demand for well-trained quality managers remains high. This also applies to related sectors and the industry as a whole. The industry expects applicants to have a basic technical understanding of the products in the respective sector and at the same time understand how quality management works. They should be able to select and successfully apply the right quality management methods and tools for their work.

The "DGQ-Manager Quality Junior" certificate is a prestigious proof of required competencies in quality management for university graduates. Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is one of the few universities in Germany authorized to award the certificate.

The "DGQ-Manager Quality Junior" certificate is issued on the basis of the certification program of the European Organization for Quality (EOQ). It forms the basis for further qualification as a DGQ (Lead) Auditor including EOQ certificate.

Further advantages

The certificate makes it possible to be admitted directly to the DGQ Quality Manager examination after at least 4 years of work in a company, of which at least 2 years in quality management.

How

The certificate is awarded in accordance with the general rules of the DGQ and the EOQ. Afterwards, courses on quality management must be successfully completed in 3 blocks:

  1. Lectures and exercises
  2. Seminars and group work
  3. Practical activity

At Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, this is implemented through mandatory successful participation in the courses

  • Introduction to quality management (V + P, 5 CP, 3 SWS + 1 SWS)
  • Specialization in Quality Management (V, 5 CP, 4 SWS)
  • Technical Analysis and Optimization (V, 5 CP, 4 SWS)
  • Engineering research project (5 CP) or Master's thesis (25 CP) on a quality management topic

The following courses can also be taken:

  • Project Management,
  • production management,
  • business organization,
  • Human Resources, Leadership and Change Management and
  • Process and change management

The certificate is applied for via the "University Teaching Expert", Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Moneke, appointed by the DGQ. The topic of the practical activity must be approved by him before commencement. The fee for processing the application, including the issuing of the certificate by the DGQ, is currently € 171.20. The certificate is only valid in conjunction with the degree certificate in the named course of study and is only issued after the degree certificate has been issued.
