Information on the basic internship

Basic internship - Temporary change due to the Covid-19 pandemic

Adjustment of the rules for the basic internship

The rule below regarding the time at which the basic internship must be completed will be replaced by the following rule with immediate effect until further notice in order to take account of the effects of the coronavirus pandemic:

The basic internship should be completed by the professional internship phase, of which 8 weeks should be completed by the 3rd semester.

A basic internship of 16 weeks must be completed. Of these 16 weeks, 8 weeks must be completed before registering for examinations in the first semester. The remaining 8 weeks must be completed at the latest when registering for examinations in the third semester.

As examination registration takes place during the lecture periods, this means that you must have completed 8 weeks of the basic internship before the start of your studies.

Further information can be found in the internship regulations. These are attached as Annex 4 to the
examination regulations (BBPO) of the degree program.

Here you will find detailed information on the completion and recognition of the basic internship.
