The degree program. How is the Master's program structured?

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Plastics Engineering is designed to provide students with a scientific approach to plastics engineering over and above the skills taught in the Bachelor's degree course. Students are enabled to apply and further develop scientific working methods in the professional environment of the plastics industry.

The educational goal is to enable students to take on tasks in research and development. The course components, such as the integrated research projects and the Master's thesis, also strengthen students' independent scientific working methods. Students decide for themselves whether they want to acquire their skills through teaching or research.

Students are also taught management skills that prepare them for management positions in the technical-scientific field.

Modules. How is the course structured?

The course consists of three theoretical semesters and a one-semester thesis. The course is divided into modules. These study units include courses, project work and laboratories and are partly designed independently by the cooperation partners in the respective specialist disciplines.

In projects, students work independently on current practical issues using scientific working methods.
