Entrance requirements

What we expect from you

Studying engineering places high demands on students. We expect you to get involved from day one. Good comprehension skills, enthusiasm, perseverance and the ability to work in a team are the right prerequisites for your successful graduation. English language skills are essential in an industry where exports account for almost two thirds of sales.

Authorization

Admission requirement for the Master's degree program is a Bachelor's degree or Diplom degree with an overall grade of at least 2.5 with at least 210 CP according to ECTS in one of the following fields

  • Mechatronics
  • Electrical engineering

If elementary knowledge (e.g. in the fields of technical mechanics, electrical engineering, computer science) for the core subjects of the Master's degree course is lacking, further admission requirements may be defined by the Examination Board. In particular, participation in and successful completion of preparatory courses may be imposed. These are not part of the Master's degree program and can be listed separately.

In individual cases, the Chair of the Examination Board may, upon application, admit applicants with a grade of better than 3.0 and an ECTS grade of "C" or better. The prerequisite for this is that the applicant can demonstrate sufficient relevance to the field of study and, in particular, demonstrate good performance in basic subjects (mathematics, technical mechanics, electrical engineering, computer science).
