You should make the beautiful things yourself!
Where form and function are brought to perfection: Modern plastics are increasingly replacing glass, metal, textiles and other materials. Some of the reasons for their triumph: Plastics are easy to shape, multifunctional parts made of plastic perform various technical tasks simultaneously, contain electronic circuits, are given incredible strength by carbon fibers, serve as data carriers with the highest storage density and for all that, they also look good.
German companies dominate the global market for plastics and plastics processing machines. They are constantly on the lookout for fit engineers to underpin their title as world export champions.
This is what we stand for
The course concept is characterized by the possibility of specialization through a large catalog of electives. There is also the opportunity to earn many credit points through integrated research and development.
We are committed to ensuring that plastics engineers "Made in Germany" will continue to lead the world.
Dual Master's program
The Master's in Plastics Engineering can also be completed in dual form. A full-time or part-time model can be chosen.
(a) Full-time model:
This model corresponds exactly to the Cooperative Engineering Program (KIng) in the Department of Mechanical and Plastics Engineering. The duration of study is 4 semesters. Further information can be found on the KIng page.
(b) Part-time model:
This model takes place in an extended form and enables part-time employment during the theory semesters. The duration of study is 7 semesters.
Time frame of the dual Master's degree program in Plastics Engineering:
- 6 theory semesters (instead of 3 in the full-time course)
- 1 final semester with Master's thesis
NOTE: Lectures take place two days a week. The timetable for the Master's in Plastics Engineering hardly changes from semester to semester, so lecture days can be determined in advance for several semesters. Due to the changing subject combinations in each semester, the attendance days change accordingly. Lecture days are determined at the beginning of each semester with the new timetable and are scheduled on consecutive days wherever possible. This cannot always be guaranteed in all 6 semesters due to the interlinking of the degree program with other degree programs.
Further information can be found on the KIng page.
