But what exactly do we pass on to our students? We want you to master subject-specific knowledge and be able to think across disciplines. They should be able to easily model complex technical relationships and solve problems with confidence. They should be able to apply engineering knowledge in their professional environment and understand basic theoretical relationships and transfer them to related fields. Our aim is for them to be able to design, realize and adapt machines and machine elements, taking into account the specific properties of the materials. And we want them to be able to design modern machines and systems.

How is the course structured?
All students receive a "Diploma Supplement" in which their grade is assigned an ECTS grade from A to E, as is the case in Anglo-Saxon countries, for example. This promotes mobility and underlines the international orientation of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.

In four semesters, you will not only deepen your basic knowledge in the areas of design theory, technical thermodynamics, production technology and mechanics, but also be able to pursue your individual interests in elective subjects. Whether aerodynamics, energy conversion, materials technology or drive technology - you will become an expert here!
But that's not all: engineering research projects give you the opportunity to apply your knowledge in practice and work scientifically on specific tasks. You will not only learn how to lead, but also how to work in a team and tackle social issues - sometimes in English!
