On 01.04.2017, IKD welcomes Dr.-Ing. Karsten Faust as a new professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Plastics Technology.

After 12 years of management and industrial experience in the plastics processing industry, he has accepted the appointment at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.

Mr. Faust has been a professor since 2012 and worked at another German university within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering before accepting his appointment in Darmstadt and therefore has many years of teaching experience. In addition to his teaching activities, Prof. Faust has particular expertise in the fields of conveyor technology and polymer tribology. Through new research collaborations with industrial partners, further research projects are planned within these areas.

His teaching focuses on technical logistics, tribology, design with plastics and technical mechanics.
