On September 1, 2018, the specialist book "Rheologie der Kunststoffe - Theorie und Praxis" will be published by Hanser Verlag.

Rheology describes the flow and deformation of materials. Plastics in particular are characterized by their special flow behavior. The viscosity of plastics is not only dependent on temperature and pressure, but also on the flow velocity. This flow behavior, known as structural viscosity, is vividly described in this textbook.

The author, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Schröder, accepted the call to Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (h_da) in 2001. Today he teaches injection molding, toolmaking, rheology and simulation technology in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Plastics Technology. He is also a member of the Institute for Plastics Technology Darmstadt (ikd) and chairman of the GFTN.
