GFTN Chairman Prof. Dr. Thomas Schröder launches the 2nd edition of the book Rheology of Plastics

On October 12, 2020, the second completely revised edition of the book Rheologie der Kunststoffe - Theorie und Praxis was published by Hanser Verlag. The second edition comprises 400 pages and is published entirely in color. New in the second edition: QR codes link to videos that explain the content even more clearly. The chapter on viscometry and rheometry has been expanded to include the so-called Large Amplitude Oscillation Theory (LAOS). The chapter on the rheological design of hot runner systems has been expanded to include pressure losses that occur at baffles in the hot runner. Multilayer flows are becoming increasingly important in the field of plastics processing. For this reason, this chapter has been expanded with calculation equations and simulation results that describe the influence of different parameters on the flow behavior.
