Exchange with partner university in Leoben

The Erasmus+ program Staff Mobility for Teaching Purposes (STA-OUT) enables scientists to visit a partner university in another European country with the aim of holding courses there. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Moneke from the Institute of Polymer Engineering at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences was a guest of Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.mont. Gerald Pinter at the Department of Plastics Technology at the University of Leoben, Austria. There he gave several lectures as part of the course "Special characterization techniques of polymeric materials".

With six chairs and around 100 employees, the Department of Polymer Engineering in Leoben plays a leading role in polymer engineering worldwide. Many of the department's students, doctoral candidates and researchers come from abroad. The offer in Leoben is complemented by the Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH (PCCL), the leading Austrian center for cooperative research in the field of plastics technology and polymer science, which also has around 100 employees.

Prof. Moneke's teaching visit was an important first step in promoting further exchange between students and lecturers in plastics technology and should also encourage future cooperation in research projects.
