Data protection / inventory and usage data:
Each time an Internet file is requested, the following access data is stored by IT services and applications:

  • the page from which the file was requested,
  • the name of the requested file
  • the date and time of the request
  • the amount of data transferred,
  • the access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.),
  • the description of the type of web browser or operating system used
  • the IP address of the requesting computer
  • as well as the user name (if a visitor logs in using a user name and password) and cookies.

Use: The stored data is used exclusively for technical or statistical purposes; it is not compared with other databases or passed on to third parties, even in excerpts. Cookies or JAVA applets may be used in the information provided by the state government. The use of these functionalities can be switched off by the respective user through the settings of the browser program.
The logged data is deleted after the access data has been analyzed. The evaluation takes place monthly and annually, and the deletion takes place in January of the following year.
When placing orders, subscribing to newsletters, replying and participating in discussion forums on the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences website, it is possible to enter personal or study-related data (e-mail addresses, names, addresses). The use of the services offered by the user is expressly on a voluntary basis.
Orders for publications are forwarded automatically (if they are placed via the corresponding order lists on the website) or on request. Once the order has been completed, the data will be destroyed.
